16.1. Data accessed from YouTube
- Channel ID, name, handle, public description, country, default language, channel keywords and topic categories (youtube.readonly)
- Public statistics: subscriber count, total views, total videos, channel creation year (youtube.readonly)
- Trailing 28-day views from YouTube Analytics (yt-analytics.readonly)
- Per-video public metadata for content already published on the connected channel (youtube.readonly)
We do not request the YouTube Analytics monetary scope. YouTube Partner Program (YPP) status, estimated revenue and channel RPM are entered manually by the creator on our platform — we do not read them from any Google API.
16.2. How we use this data
- Verifying that the user signing in is the legitimate owner of the channel
- Building the creator profile shown to that creator on their dashboard and to platform admins managing campaigns
- Pricing brand placements fairly based on recent channel activity
- Generating month-over-month snapshots so trends can be displayed to the creator and to platform admins
We do not use YouTube data for advertising, profiling, training AI models, or transferring it to third parties beyond the essential providers listed in section 5.
16.3. Storage and retention
- Aggregate signals (subscribers, views, revenue, RPM, YPP status) are stored on the creator's record and refreshed when the creator triggers a re-sync
- Refresh tokens are stored encrypted at rest and used only to refresh access tokens for the scopes the creator granted
- Access tokens are kept in memory for the duration of a request and discarded immediately after use
- When a creator deletes their account or disconnects their channel, the cached YouTube data and refresh token are deleted, and the channel-level snapshots are removed within 30 days
16.4. Revoking access
Creators can revoke ViDope's access to their Google account at any time from their security settings: https://myaccount.google.com/permissions
Once access is revoked, ViDope can no longer query YouTube on the creator's behalf. Any cached aggregate metrics already synced to the creator's profile are deleted upon request to legal@vidope.com or by deleting the connected channel from the creator dashboard.
